This would be pretty fun if they fully embraced the pure insanity of the anime's approach to Mahjong but I doubt they're doing that.

Should be noted that a similar game was released for the original Saki series in 2010. Fun game, though probabilities were obviously rigged based on each character's skills (easy Rinshan Kaihou, Haitei Raoyue, etc...). Looking forward to playing as Toki.
Glad to also see this will be for the PSP and not Vita as I have no intention of buying the Vita anytime soon.

They will. It's by the same developer and Saki Portable released previously has the gameplay mechanics you mentioned.
