If I have enough money come December I'm buying this. I rather just import the bluray instead of waiting for Funimation to get the rights.
The drama cds and booklet just seal the deal for me. |

Kurisumasu just came early.
I'll pre-order my copy after Otakon. Funimation, you have until then to license the movie and come up with a release like what they did for Ghost in the Shell: ARISE that can stand out from the Japanese releases. Otherwise, I'll import it myself. Now, I find it hard to believe they can top a package like THAT but I'll wait and see. |

Unless FUNi come up with a special import version, then this is the one for me. Looks great and with English subs you can't say no. |

Steins;Gate was the first series in a long time I found to be captivating. Really wish there were more series like that. Thought Funimation did a great job with the dub and I hope they get the rights to this film as well for a North American release. I collect a lot of titles, but very rarely will I collect a sub-only release unless it appeals to the collector side of me, such as Funi's limited special edition of Ghost In The Shell: Arise, where I know a English dubbed version will also be released. In that case, I'll be getting both versions. If Funimation released a special import version of this movie plus a regular dubbed release, I'd seriously consider getting both as well.

Wow, $100 for:
-The movie -140 minutes of extra story material via CDs -100-page booklet -The soundtrack -an artbook -a short story I've yet to actually watch this series, but that's probably the best deal for an R2 release I've ever seen, if you're a huge fan. It sort of makes the new DBZ movie's release look really bad(I understand these have different audiences, but still). |

Kadokawa's listing confirms English subtitles on all versions for the movie only. Bonus features will not be subtitled.

Curious why they went with subs for the film but not the series? I would of loved the option of having subs on the limited edition volumes of the series with the extras being that I don't care or need dubs.

Most likely because Funimation picked up the t.v series very early on to it's t.v airing and they saw just how popular the series was overseas. Personally I just think they're putting the subs on to make it more import friendly since they can reach the target market faster. |

I didn't buy the series because the Japanese BDs didn't have English subtitles, but I might very well import the movie. Hmm...
|
