whenever i read a graphic novel it literally goes from straight to ( <--cover
especially Death Note. It's probably the way i hold it and how long i hold it like that (since D N requires a LOT of reading), but It goes back to normal since i have so many GNs they're squished together, that is until i read it again. I was wondering if you guys knew a way to stop it from doing this, or if you have this problem.

I try to hold mine so I don't bend the cover much as I read, but a bit of cover warping is unavoidable. I usually just put something heavier on top of it once I'm finished reading. (I've found that my DS is perfect for this.) I'm painfully gentle with my manga, though, so it's never been an extreme problem. Usually just a bit of weight or some time packed between other books on the shelf will get the cover straightened out.

Yeah, I do this too. When I read my manga, I'm extremely gentle to the cover, so it won't bend that much. Of course, it will never be completely flat after I finish it, so I usually put it between other books on my shelf. After awhile, the cover will eventually straighten out.

When I am done reading a Manga I put it back on my manga shelve, (witch u may not have), and I usally dont read it again for a while, but I have found that even thought the cover sticks out a lil it goes back to normal after it has been in my shelve for a while, plus it really is'nt that big of a deal, if your gonna sit there and try to read it, by holding it a strange way so nothing bad happens ( I'm guilty of this with some titles) it kind of takes the joy out of the reading experience, don't worry the cover will go back to normal one way or another.

I don't get fussed by this, so long as the cover isn't bent double and showing a crease, it's fine.
One of the simplest things you can do is just to pile your manga up and put a book on top. Given enough time, they'll re-attain straightness.
But I personally wouldn't be fussed by this; much better to have a well-worn, well-read manga, than one you're afraid to even open.

I don't know about you, but my manga is for reading, not looking at the cover.
I don't really care if the cover gets curved, though it does happen

All paperback books will suffer from cover warping to some degree. It's just generally more noticable in manga because of the type of material they use for the covers and the fact that you often have to open the books quite wide in order to fully view the art.
It is possible to minimize the amount of cover warping you experience by holding the book differently, but as others have pointed out, putting the volume under some weight or placing it between books on a shelf will straighten the cover back out again.
