I'm not too much into 'begging' online, but I'll make an exception today ^^

There's a newspaper comic competion going on in Holland right now. The youngest competitor and only female to enter, is Aimée de Jongh at 17. She's the also the only artist that employs manga-like touches in her art and storytelling (for more examples, visit her awesome site). Over the course of this week, the comic by her and her opponent are shown daily on the competition website where people can vote for their favorite comic strip. The winner of the competition is awarded a contract with the newspaper for his or her own strip.

Unfortunately, it appears Aimée's opponent, a seasoned veteran several years her senior, has tapped into his large network to gain more votes. Though manga fans may be a minority in Holland, we really want to support her and even out the votes to a 50 - 50. If that were to happen, it'd be up to the jury to decide who wins. We think that's a preferable scenario, so here's were you come in ^^

Please visit the competition website and vote for 'Osmond en ik' (the second strip on the page). It'll take two seconds of your time, but you'll support a talented young artist put a different kind of comic on the map in Holland Smile

My apologies for the blatant tone of my story, thanks for helping out!

That is definately unfair, because probably more than half of the people on his forum won't even see most of his artwork. And since this is a competition, it should be based on talent and what the people in Holland want to read.

Go females!!!! Show it to the boys! (I am not trying to be prejudice to guys or anything, but she is the only women in a male dominate competition).

Hope the best person wins, and good luck to your friend!~

[edit] I just looked at the comic strips and I can't read anything!! Can you translate what they wrote? I am just curious at what is said by your friend and her opponent.

Her style really doesn't appear that manga influenced, but the never the less I voted for it. Not because you asked me to, but because her work just honestly looked better - the verteran's strip was too sloppy, imo.

But unfortunately for you, this thread should probably be locked. It's pretty much spam.
