I'm really starting to get tired of the filler. Don't get me wrong, it's ok, but it's just to stagnant for me. It's serving it's purpose but really it's not enough. This whole idea of such an obvious lull to be ok so the manga can get ahead isn't sitting well with me. A series is still a series and a manga is still a manga, so I don't think any part of it should be exempt. But Naruto and Bleach have lost a high status because of these arcs in my eyes. Due to obvious restrictions, Bleach really can't go anywhere. Characters don't develop at all (I'm sorry, but Ichigo's "development" was pretty sorry) and each episode just gets this "meh" feel. Bleach was such an awesome show beforehand, with the uniqueness of each character along with their spoiler[bankai] to the nice overall movement and feel to the plot (always ongoing and never stopping). Especially after such a HUGE cliffhanger it all just...stopped. At this point I know how every character is going to act, and the new ones follow pretty standard roles. It's just difficult for me to get behind it even though I have tried.
So, I'm think that maybe I should continue on in the manga. Especially outside of the obvious I want to see spoiler[the return of the Hollow that killed Ichigo's mother.] It's funny, at this point I've all but forgotten about Hollows. Anyway the one thing keeping me away from starting up is not wanting to downplay the anime. Because of an AMV contest spoiler[Aizen was spoiled for me, even though I always had the feeling.] So would I still get a good shock if I go with the manga? Is it worth reading right now? Just wanted some fan opinions. |

I like this filler arc. The last episode was kinda ubber filler to the filler arc, but Its not so bad.
I was happy how the soul society arc ended but I guess thats how the manga ended it?? Also what chapter in the manga does the soul society arc end so I can start reading where it left off! |

I don't know. Unlike with the AMV thing, you aren't really spoiling anything by reading the manga, you're just enjoying it in a different form. The manga storyline is definitely interesting, and you'd probably enjoy it. I'm staying current in both versions.
I really enjoy staying ahead in the manga, actually (which I also do in Naruto, One Piece, MAR, Beet, Tsubasa, and others), because by the time the aniem catches up, I've already forgotten it a little, but at the same time I look forward to seeing cool bits be animated. It's fun all around. Of course at one point I was enjoying One Piece from about a near a half-dozen time periods at once (Japanese Manga in the late 200's, Viz manga in the lower 50, 4Kids run in the low naughts/teens, One Fansub version in the 150's, one fansub in the low 200's, and one fansub version in the 240's), and I enjoyed them all. |

The best thing about the manga is that it's the original. You're not going to get fillers; you're going to get constant development in both characters and plot. Because I prefer anime, I usually only read the manga when the series is long (Naruto and Bleach). The manga is usually better than the anime in those cases (at least for me).

I've only just stopped watching (episode 78). the anime is still good but there are other animes airing that are just so much better. at the moment has no main plot movement and the characters are not in development. i didn't really like the arc with bound or bounto (diff sub groups) when it started because it reeked of fillers. i might pick it back up when the main plot starts again, but at the moment id rather download suzumiya haruhi, school rumble or ouran host club. i seem to enjoy them more.
