So I haven´t seen an official post by anyone here so I thought I´d post it. In the what did you just purchase topic, someone mentioned that there was a Buy 1 Geneon/Pioneer Title, And Get 1 Free. I decided to check if my local store had it, and they did.
The clerk told be the sale was pushed back and will actually end July 19th.

Sounds like a great deal I would probably jump on some Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (I always have to check my anime for the correct spelling on that) volumes but unfortunely for me my local suncoast was one of the store that actually shut down for good. Oh well maybe I will check to see if there is one anywhere else close to me.
Till next time,

And our Suncoast shut down!!!
(Well... at least most of the Geneon I need is pre-order stuff, so it's not like I oculd go buy it anyway...)

Yeah, ours all shut down as well. The closest to me merged with the FYE downstairs and that place is an absolute mess. Their DVD's are just tossed on the shelves and there's always a good 10 to 12 employees there at a time and none of them are doing anything more than chatting. It's easily the most horribly unorganized store I've ever seen, and they have almost no anime that I've been able to find.

When your a DVD store you think that you might want to keep the DVD in some kind of order........but this place was like a dump. It always took forever to find anything, and the employee were always too busy trying to figure out how to get with one another. Sorry for the sweeping generalization, but that how my store was I don't mean to offend anyone who works at Suncoast, but my store SUCKED!

*sniffle* My Suncoast was great... it was clean, it was organized, the new releases always came out on time, and most of the employees were anime fans, so we could chat about new shows and reccomendations and stuff. And they weren't real stingy with the promo handouts, either... we got lots of stuff given to us just becuase the promo time was running out, or people weren't buying the things the handout went with... they even let me come pick a 4-foot tall Shaman King standup (Yoh, or course) instead of throwing it away. (My boyfriend got a Kenshin standup the same way.)
I miss those guys...

Whoa, this topic took a turn for the worst.
And thank you delta for the reccommendation... sp?. I forgot Geneon had Go.... well you know. I wonder how many titles are out of that series so far. I´ll check in a bit and also how many volumes there will be.
I was browsing through the used section and saw that the used DVDs looked different. The stickers over the plastics had changed to the FYE style ones and no longer the Suncoast. Does FYE have the same sale?
The prices for most used titles also whent up. $16+tax for 1 volume of Samurai 7, and not knowing if they have those inserts, I might as well take them for $20 at best Buy, and probably cheaper at DDD.

Would you happen to know if the sell is also at Sam Goody locations? The Suncoast here closed down, and so did one of the Sam Goodys, but there's still one Sam Goody at least(I would have much rather had suncoast stay, but that's another matter).
Thanks.

I wouldn´t know since there is no Sam Goody in this area. You might try calling the store and asking them. I´m pretty sure all the employees were briefed on the sale.
I bought 2 more volumes today, Haibane Renmei Vol.1 and Texhnolyze Vol.6, the guy rang up Tex first and asked me if I knew they were having a sale on geneon titles. I told him that I did and that´s why I got Haibane Renmei because Geneon used to be Pioneer. And he said, ¨Thats´s right, we were told two names for the sale and I had forgotten the 2nd¨.
I was going to pìck up Gankutsuou, but I really can´t afford to start up a new series with school just around the corner. Plus, this Suncoast only had volume 3 in stock so someone had already beat me to it. 1 more volume to complete Haibane Renmei and then I can watch it all to see why people think so highly of this series.
