Umm sorry to burst your Seed (Hehe Wink ) but once every other month isn't exactly strange. I mean part of the reason why DVDs are spaced out over a long period of time
1. Because of Shelf space, there is a limited room for DVDs (speciality since Anime is Niche) such companies will wait for room to clear up so that their DVD will have room.
2. Production: Anime DVD take time to create, From VA, to making special features, to the actual pressing of the DVDS. Making all those cool insert, making Covers. Making Artboxes I could go on and on.
3. Patience: just relax they will be out in due time, it's not like Bandai said they will never release the entire series.
Till next time,

Delta Kiral

P.S. Are anime fans that spoiled?

Bimonthly is fairly common. Cool it. What I don't get is why you're in such a rush to waste your money and get let down by such an atrocious series.

Also, clean up your grammar.

Ouch......I am somewhat afraid to see how bad this series ends up......I mean Seed was really good. And if it's as bad as Nagisa claims to be I am very afraid. Augh I am not looking forward to collecting the volume down the line.

Honestly, if you are a HUGE fan of Gundam Seed (as in you would tattoo the logo on your forehead) then you might actually like Gundam Seed Destiny. Hell, I've heard people actually say they liked it... To me GSD was purely fanservice and greed. Avoid unless you need a dose of whichever Seed character you worship to survive.

Becuase Bandai knows we're not made of money.

See, I know I tend to be collecting 3-5 series at any time, plus impluse buys on series boxes- and I'm not the only one, I'm sure. a slower release schedule gives me time to go listen to old ladies gripe about the price of yarn, earn a paycheck, and get the money for the next batch of DVDs.

If they went too fast, people would either go broke and quit buying, put off buying because they've yet to watch the last volume they bought (hurting the ever-important first week sales), or give up becuase the volumes are rotating out too fast, making it too easy to miss one. (That store shelf space thing again.)

As long as I've been collecting anime, about 3 years now, the majority of the series' have been bi-monthly. I remember a few titles, such as DBZ and Blue Gender, were released 2 volumes on the same day bi-monthly.

The first couple of Cowboy Bebop Remix's were released monthly... then the schedule was drastically changed. Gantz was another series that was released monthly, but only the "First Season" with 2 episodes each DVD, 3 on the last.

Exactly because Gantz was part of that "experiment" to see if people will buy more if each volume has less episodes and cost less. So in reality we were still getting the same deal with every other month release format. It just happened that it spanned over two volumes to cover the same amount of episode normally.

The fact that I was such an enthusiastic SEED fan was the main reason I ended up hating Destiny so much in the first place. It's not only an awful story in its own right, but it ends up perverting and destroying much of what was already established in the first SEED and the Astray stories. Trust me, if you were any sort of fan of Athrun, Cagalli, Mwu, or Kira, then by all means DO NOT watch this series. The more you liked those characters, the more Destiny will piss you off.

Don't get attached to any of the new characters, either. They're depicted in just as stupid, regressive, and nonsensical a light as most of the returning cast.

Bandai is not the only company that does this. Geneon released Samurai Champloo at two month intervals, Funimation for Fullmetal Alchemist, and ADV for Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu except the last one. Most companies from which I buy the DVDs release the next volume in a two month interval. Plus stores need shelf space for other stuff as well.

A side note, when Bandai was releasing Gundam Seed, they released TWO, yes two, DVDs every other month. Beats me why they are not doing it for Gundam Seed Destiny and Eureka Seven. All three are 50 episode series.

Yes they were both 50+ episode series, but they won´t have the same amount of release.I know for sure that Destiny will be more volumes than the original Seed. Eureka 7, I dunno.

Now the topic makes more sense knowing that Gundam Seed was released 2 volumes bi-monthly. My theory is that the 2 DVDs per release date didn´t work out so they are trying something different. I think Seed is the only series at my local Best Buy that came out that long ago and there are still units on the shelf.
