Did they really cancel Kanpai? I only got to read the first one and the second never really arrived at my local book shops including barns and noble.

I know, but we haven't even heard of any further releases. Kind of depressing... Confused

It kind of makes me want more. As well I can't get my hands on the second volume. -.- I don't buy things off the internet because of trust issues.

I made a thread about virtually the same thing a while ago (but I'm to lazy to dig it up, and it didn't get much of a response). Did it get cancelled in Japan, or is it still being serialized in some magazine and new tamkubon just haven't been published yet? The second volume's conclusion was extremely open-ended, and it definitely looked like there was supposed to be a continuation. If it's really supposed to end here, it looks like the entire point to this series was spoiler[for fangirls to squeal at a cameo appearance of Gravitation's Eiri Yuki.] How disappointing.

Considering it's been 5 years since vol two came out, I would expect the series is long-over, since I know Maki Murakami has been working on other projects, mainly the very bad revival of Gravitation. No idea what the reasons for the sudden ending might be...and of course we've seen that sometimes even series with a proper conclusion can be picked up again later.

What a shame. The Kanpai series should really be continued. For like many anime/manga, it has a lot more potentical.
