I'm only now noticing that Kaworu's and Mari's plugsuits have those 'ribcage' things with cores at the center. Might there be some significance to that, some implication with Mari...?

Should've partnered with Tesla Model S instead. Even the logo fits right into the Eva universe. And there would still be a Japanese connection with its use of Panasonic batteries, which have been promoted together with Tesla in Japan.
