I just hope they don't end up licensing Utena like they have with Slayers.

So are any of these likely to be in the "Funimation Block" that's been airing on that Colours channel?

That's the only way I'll be able to watch any of these on TV. I don't have access to the linear Funimation Channel or ADV's Anime Network. Crying or Very sad

This is confusing. So, is broadcast rights different from distribution rights?

Yes Cartoon Network has broadcasting rights to DBZ for example but Funi has licensed it for distribution. Usually when an anime is licensed they get broadcast and distribution rights and they in turn license it for broadcast to some one else. That's why DBZ and full metal aren't on Funi because before it decided to have a station it had already licensed it's hottest properties for broadcasting.

I am quite please about His and Her circumstances. It's the first anime I ever saw that made me go buy the manga. It's also the first manga I ever read. So it holds a special place in my heart and even though I have no access to the Funi station I hope others enjoy the show.

So does RightStuf get some royalties for the english production? I'm sure it will air in english. It would be funny subtitled.

Interesting news. Yet, again, FUNimation has not announced Ouran. :/

...and the one question that probably went unasked - and unasnwered - was '*Utena* Utena, or "Ursula's Kiss" Utena...'

(...and likewise, for KKNJ, what was it, Tales of Sweet Valley North Hills High...?)

If FUNimation is using RightStuf's dub (and I suspect they will), then RightStuf will get something for it.

Tinfoil-hattery aside, no one knows if FUNimation even HAS Ouran.

Yeah, if they did, it should have prob been in that last round of C&Ds that was sent out imo. I thought that people were thinking that Viz has this one.

Oh, stop fussing over solicitation materials. They're not going to re-dub/sub the entire series and alter a show everybody already knows, pissing everybody off in the process, just because Enoki made a half-hearted effort to suggest an adaptation to potential licensors on their solicitation materials years ago. You're being ridiculous.

And if they use Right Stuf's dub, it's doubtful Right Stuf would see any money from that. 95% of anime licenses indicate that the English version(s) are owned by the licensor. Most contracts also allow for the dub/subbing costs to be deducted from the royalty payments, so it's not like Right Stuf got shafted here.

Why not? I would definitleylike a better version on DVD. The first 2 CPM discs have hard song subs. Either way this is awesome news for fans of the show.
