And if you want to see this happen, it was mentioned on the podcast you can tweet using the hashtag "#OPBroadcast" to give your support and help them gauge interest for this idea.
If they do go through with a broadcast dub of One Piece, they've also mentioned they'll fast-track the dubbing of all the episodes between to close the gap much faster than they're currently on track to do.

sweet ,they definitely have my vote on this. plus they will have plenty of time to fine tune the dub before the final release.

If funi does this and starts dubbing the eps airing right now while leaving the other eps they haven't release yet dubless then is gonna be a clusterfuck of a mess later on when it comes to continuity in the dubs.
Like eg: eps 1-485 all dubbed while 486-682 not dubbed and 683-onwards dubbed. If that happeneds then count me out.

Like I said in the first post, the brand manager who was discussing this on the podcast said that if they do go through with this plan, they WILL be dubbing all the episodes between, and at a much faster rate because there'll be the incentive of closing the gap and getting the dub watchers caught up.
So they've already got ideas for what to do with the episodes between.

Really bad idea. A lot of people who watch the dub, only watch the dub, they are not going to want to skip forward over a 100 episodes. And most of the people who watch it weekly prefer the JP dub or are not interested enough to switch.
Once they've caught up and there are only a few episodes behind, don't know how long that will take, then that will be a pretty good idea. But until then they should really focus on dubbing what is in front of them.

Not worth it considering where the dub is. One Piece is never going to be a thing here. Just air in order.

Current estimated date that the brand manager gave is sometime in 2020 if they keep going at the current pace.

someone's on a broadcast dub high. But like all highs, you eventually land gently or catastrophically...
or...
you loose yourself in the depths of outer space, lost without any solid grounding.

How far away is the manga from finishing, and how large is the gap between the episodes and the manga? I wonder how many episodes there will be once the series finally concludes.

I'd much rather see Fairy Tail Broadcast Dubbed instead. I think the only reason that's holding them back from doing it is the fact that they're less than 100 episodes behind Japan, so it would be pointless.

Less than 10 years since its been past the half way point for a few years now. One Piece manga started in July 1997. The anime has been airing since October 1999. The anime currently has 96 episodes of filler, unlike Naruto and Bleach, which have over 200 and 152 episodes of filler respectively, and their anime caught up to the manga after they started about 2 years apart. With One Piece having no end in sight, its close enough.

I've been watching One Piece with each dvd volume being released, so if they do skip a lot so they can do a simultaneous dub with Japan, I won't be watching it.
