Might be best since they are struggling outside of Rosario + Vampire streaming on Netflix.

Beats being sold for >$10 like AIC. Laughing

Honestly, Gonzo's been successfully clawing back over the past few years. Ao no Kanata no Four Rythm last winter was pretty fantastic....

Gonzo is the anime studio equivalent to beating a dead horse

I remember them pumping out quite a few shows back in the 00s, of varying quality as well. Maybe this company can get them back up and running.

Yeah, that show was a great surprise.

Agreed, it's been good to see them slowly working their way back with some decent stuff. Hopefully this company wants them in order to continue building them up, they still have a special place to me thanks to their period where they put out all those scifi works and were pushing the envelope on CG.

I recall some old reviewer referring to Gonzo as "Studio LJN".

Not surprised by this, I haven't heard anything from them in a LONG time.

There's a reason gonzo has sold for that much, they released their earnings for the year ending on march.
They made $4 million in profit, mostly due to sore ga seiyuu!
Gonzo still has it, rosario vampire 3 when?

I guess I have no idea how much anime studios are worth because I never would have guessed Gonzo selling for $59 million. That is much higher than I would have thought.

I thought it was because Gonzo made a number of original titles over the years and they are still making money off of them.

Well, considering they haven't had a big hit in a few years, that's not really bad. Plus, $4 million dollars for a company that's valued under $60 million isn't really that bad. I think sometimes anime fans forget that the companies that animate a lot of the shows are actually quite small, and operate on fairly slim profit margins.

I was wondering whatever happened to Gonzo, they were big in the 00's but seem to have disappeared.
