Now manga cows in the area will have no more excuses. (Are there manga cows common in Japan?)

Nice initiative and quite a collection.

Taking the opportunity to post a link and a "plug" for the Hiroshima Manga library. Holding a nice collection of new and old manga as well as reference works (some readable right off the shelves, others accessible upon request from helpful staff). Located in a nice park atop an important hill:
http://www.library.city.hiroshima.jp/manga/

Grazing hours between 10:00 and 17:00 (Except most Mondays) - stools and steps between comfortably leaning shelves, tables and countertops in some areas. (Take-out available for locals) ...
〒732-0815
広島市まんが図書館 - 広島市南区比治山公園1番4号
Hiroshima City Manga Library - Hiroshima-shi, Minami-ku, Hijiyama-kōen (Hijiyama park) 1-4

Yes, very common - while some stores/publishers cord-bind or plastic seal-wrap books and magazines to limit the practice others welcome and accommodate us.
