It's hard to comment on this after knowing how things turned out in the anime.

Why are you acting so bummed? I loved the anime and I'm ecstatic that I'll have the opportunity to play the VN too and experience a larger, more detailed version of the story with multiple routes. If you're a fan of the series, this is good news. |

Except in regards to getting more SciADV in the West. Without Chaos Head and Robotics Notes, people will likely be confused as to how this fits in with Steins Gate, and with no explanation, will probably be turned away from it in the long run. Ad, as usual, instead of taking that to mean they have to bring the whole series over, they'll take it to mean that there isn't an audience over here for it, and that will be that. |
