That red-haired guy in the image made me double-take. His head has a striking resemblance to that of Outlaw Star's Gene Starwind and I got super excited for a revival of some sort. Alas, no such luck.

If it ever gets to North America, Syfy should air it (NBCUniversal owns it in Japan, after all).
