@Rebecca

Would it be at all possible to mention in your reviews when a book is digital only? It would save my getting too interested in it. The name of the publisher would also be helpful for those who do want to obtain it.

This was a good read. I enjoyed how in both content and tone, it felt very much like a fairy tale, distinct from usual light novel tropes. It's nice to get a good one-volume story like this once in a while.

One thing i have to take issue with is what exactly Japan considers to be an "old man;" the narrative constantly refers to Gideon as being "old," to the point where if i believed the text i'd think he was in his 60s. But based on the facts we're given, he can't be older than 35! I'm nearly 30, is that 1 foot in the grave for Japan? lol

She mentions in the review that it's published by Cross Infinite Worlds

I will definitely try to (remember to) do that. Frequently it's in the review title, but for some reason this one and Mia and the Forbidden Medicine Report were both just listed as "novel" rather than "ebook."

If it helps, Cross Infinite World only publishes ebooks at this time.

Yeah, Japan has weird standards for what they consider to be old age. They're especially strict about it for women, as their society considers women older than 25 to be an old maid in their view, or too old to be considered young enough to have children, which is still admittedly kinda sexist and outdated. My mom had me and my sister when she was in her thirties, so that one's kinda moot. Though then again, in times past, people as young as their mid-teens were considered old enough to marry way back when.

Anyway, I just bought this and plan to read it later. I'm a sucker for good, dark stories! Very Happy
