Actually, there wasn't that much negativity on Japan's end to begin with. The people complaining about Yayorozu being punted from the project were a vocal minority, as opposed to most people interested in the show elsewhere.
This franchise continues to be a phenomenon in Japan. It's going to truck along like this and make money whether you like it or not.
