Wow...and I own some of those cards too like most of the Lucky Stadium set, Grand Party and the Eevee cards.

Never really thought they were worth anything though.

Shining Charizard! (1:57 in the video, on the left.) Had an English one of those, got it "graded" a while back and sold it for like $300. Kinda wish I still had it, but if someone was willing to pay that much for an old piece of cardboard, they probably wanted it more than me.

Even with all that stuff, though, he'd have a tough time trading for the "illustrator" card, another stupidly rare promo handout that people later decided was worth buckets of money. About the same number printed as that parent-and-child-tournament card, but Pikachu's a lot more popular than Kangaskhan.

This guy was apparently really good at the card game back in the day to place 2nd at Nationals.
