I cant imagine the state some of these people must be in to be passing away after all this time in the hospital. Rip

Things can certainly take quick turns when it comes to injuries such as these (infection and other issues can arise in a big way when much of your skin is severely damaged if not destroyed), but the close time frame makes me wonder if there might not also have been some sort of misunderstanding between the paper and their sources about the condition of the patients back when that update came out on September 18.

I've heard horror stories of full body burns like this. It's depressing to think she suffered for 2 months before passing away.

At least she's no longer in pain. I was hoping the death toll would stop rising... Now I'm back to holding my breath.

Reminds me of a feature in my grandparents' guest room; the dammit doll, a rather simple cotton (I think) filled doll whose sole purpose was to be smacked against a dresser (or some other hard object) while the holder screamed "DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT!". Neither Kyoani nor any of its employees deserved this, so I guess I'll fall back on the dammit doll and smack it for all it's worth, screaming my sorrow unto the heavens. |

From the article. "Kyoto Prefectural Police have apprehended a 41-year-old man who allegedly used gasoline to start the fire, and they are investigating the case as arson. Police have yet to arrest the man as he is still in the hospital recovering from his injuries from the fire." He can't be arrested and interrogated in his current condition. |

Undergoing expensive graft surgery and speech therapy under the protection of his doctor. The police have tried to already take him in but he is allegedly not mentally prepared to take what is inevitably going to happen. |

Yeah that's the real kicker here, seems everyone was finally coming around and maybe in stable condition. I wonder if maybe some later complications arose. So sad |

According to the update on CR's article, she got septic and died from the septic shock. Their source of this information came from here: https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20191005-00000023-mai-soci |
