Kind of an interesting week. MP Superstars had a better second week than Super MP, it'll ovbiously become a huge seller. CoD Vanguard's debut isn't very good compared to the 84k copies the last CoD did last year or past CoD games, I think some CoD games managed to sell over 500k in Japan. I don't know much about Danganronpa, but I think this is the first time the series is being availabe in a Nintendo system so I don't know if 20k is a good number, it's just 2k more than NEO TWEWY just for comparison. Surprisingly Fatal Frame on Switch has surpassed the sales of the PS4 version, even if it's just by 4k copies
In terms of hardware sales the SW OLED is facing a lot of shortages but with all versions combined the SW is still selling pretty good, on the other hand the PS5 is facing even worse shortages, maybe this will become worse with the chip shortage problem the industry is facing.

Does this count digital sales? Elsewhere a lot of sales are now digital
Also, the PS5 shortages leading to this

I heard that digital sales only amount to a very small number in Japan, people there tend to prefer physical copies.
I also read an article in which a game store owner in Japan claimed that they have a hard time selling PS5 software, despite the PS5 having sold over a million units in Japan it seems that most units are being bought to re-sell them in other territories, so the amount of PS5 that are actually in Japan are fewer than Sony claims, and I think it does make sense when looking at the weekly charts and how few copies PS5 titles sell. It makes sense that some players want to play the latest games on PC.

Digital sales seem to be about 50% of physical sales in Japan from the sales announcements we've seen.
