I don't think I've ever heard of a series resuming after being in "hiatus" for so long. 8 years! Wow. Maybe there's hope yet for Ecole du Ciel.

It does happen occasionally. Five Star Stories was on hiatus from 2006 to 2015. Not a manga, but the Twelve Kingdoms books were on hiatus from 2001 to 2013.

My go to example is Beet the Vandel Buster, which had been on hiatus for about ten years! Of course, in that case, the artist had been really sick.[/img]

Lucky Star was one of the cornerstones of 2000's internet culture. So glad I was there to witness it!

Coming right off after the announcement of Nichijou formally returning, Lucky Star's return is a huge welcome since LS fandom have been patiently waiting for this moment for a long time. I can imagine the series can easily adapt the current era with all these modern stuffs and reference overload.

Mikimoto seems to have a bad habit of not finishing manga. The Macross manga that he was doing, Macross The First is also in hiatus for several years. I don't think that we'll ever see either series continue.

I think D.N.Angel was also on hiatus for 8 years.

technically speaking gunnm was not on hiatus but we know it really was.
also , that image uses highscooler Konata, but she is already in college in the manga, just a heads up for people who want to start the manga from the new chapters.
