This is a pretty spot on review. I recently picked up these three books and rather enjoyed the change from the typical harem/reverse harem and the honest lack of a super power.
The author did give her an ability spoiler[ as she is able to combine magics. The excuse is she can do it because of her weak magic ability]. It would be a great bit of world building to better define the magic system and clarify that ability. |

This is one of my favorites of the series that J-Novel Club translates. It’s quite nice to read about adults in isekai stories on occasion. They don’t all have to be high schoolers, or be all-powerful. :)
While Shiori has had more than her share of traumas resulting from some people severely taking advantage of her while she integrates with her new world, she is very capable at her job and seems to now be surrounded by good people who care for her, and an awesome slime who is a wonderful companion. I’m sure that there will still be troubles for her, but she’s now better able to deal with it herself, and she has support nearby, if not at her side. A therapist for her PTSD might still be helpful. J-Novel’s working on volume 4 right now, and it seems that volume 7 came out in Japan a couple of months ago, so there’s plenty more to come! :) |
