Read the first six novels for this one, and I'm not at all surprised that it got picked up. While it's not game-breakingingly different as "fantasy tales set in a world operating under game mechanics" go, Fate's Gluttony ability makes him a darker protagonist than most and some plot elements definitely lean towards the darker side. If done right, it should have some neat action scenes and a couple of major female supporting characters who can hold their own in a fight.
