And of course you will not see it in theaters outside Japan.
I don't get it. Japan cry, that manga and anime is pirated at great scale, but do nothing to be other way. Publishers make a lot of problems over manga licences. Naoko Takeushi takes 1-2 years to licence Sailor Moon manga. Anime films don;t come so often to US or European theaters. |

They are streaming on HIDIVE, which arguably has greater accessibility than time-limited theater showings that only people living within a certain distance can realistically attend, even if HIDIVE is regionally limited. If I want to watch on TV or PC, I could download. But it would be nice to watch it on big screen. I have watched some anime movies in theater and that was different experience than on TV. And playing with VPN to watch something means they don't care about every region, so why I care about watching it legally? |

As much as I love Girls und Panzer, the franchise is not as popular outside of Japan as it is in Japan, where the franchise is catered to the most. Sentai Filmworks tried to make it popular by releasing Der Film in theaters but I don't think the results were profitable enough for them to continue releasing Das Finale in theaters.
I'm just glad the franchise is still getting content despite its release schedule. |
