I see Jerome's still as blunt as a block of Bolivian prairie hash. As contentious as his relationship to the UK fandom could be, I'm kinda glad we had someone approaching the level of outspokenness of a John O'Donnell.
As for the subtitling choice, I've never actually seen Naruto but it's funny to imagine the extent they could have to gone with that translation choice. All spicy ramen references suddenly changing to 'Bombay Bad Boys' sure would have been surreal, even if calling them 'the slag of all snacks' may not go down well today. Between Pot Noodles, Tango & Playstation magazine ads, the late 90's/early 00's was a wild time for UK marketing.
