I'm fine with reviewer not being familliar with the series (even on Steam page nothing says you must watch the source material before this game). But moving setting and characters (described very broadly) aside, what themes and questions does this game explore? Which of them are in the center of the plot?

While you don't technically *need* to have full knowledge of the source material to get enjoyment from this, im sure the devs were at least banking on the player having some passing familiarity of the original story and some level of existing investment towards the girls. Without either of those things, I'm not sure what you're getting out of this

I mean, this is a game for fans of the franchise and is the franchise' fourth VN in general so...I'm not surprised it wasn't new-player friendly.
I'll probably play it though!
