I once saw someone on Twitter point out that discussing Japanese media without discussing tokusatsu is like trying to talk about Western animation without mentioning the Looney Tunes, and I think that's apt. Look at how long it's taken anime fandom to catch onto how much of an influence Ultraman was for Evangelion--all because you couldn't get anime fans to watch grownups in spandex. It really is great that toku is making more inroads with American fans these days.

Same.
Maybe Sentai can stop being suffocated by it in the States now.
