I'm kind of slacking this season, I guess. To Be Hero X is the only one on the list that I watched so far.

Overall, a good list, although Apocalypse Hotel deserves the No. 2 position, not Gundam, which would not be on my list at all.

Update: After watching the last episode of Apocalypse Hotel, I change my opinion. It deserves the number 1 status. A great ending that I don't see Kowloon Generic Romance being able to beat. KGR would be my number 2 now.

I've been holding off on KGR (after watching the first episode I was like "oh I'm gonna have to binge this, I will not be able to stand the wait for week-by-week) and I'm glad to see it get ranked #1 so I can be even more hyped. Apothecary Diaries was stellar this season.

Gundam GQuuuuux was the only one I was really watching this season(though as an Atlantic Canadian, I'm obligated to watch Anne Shirley at some point); the finale is today, spoiler[but I don't have high hopes for it sticking the landing]. We'll see!

The flaws Jairus mentions about Gquuuuuux are precisely why I wouldn't rate it this high, especially not ahead of Apothecary Diaries and Apocalypse Hotel (my #1 and #2 picks for the season, respectively), though it would still be in my top 5 for the season. But I also haven't seen 0079, so that may be influencing my decision.

Didn't get past episode 2 of Kowloon, so I can't judge that one, but I do agree that Rock is a Lady's Modesty belongs. The one in my seasonal top 5 that isn't mentioned here (and which I would put at #3) is the seriously-underappreciated Sword of the Demon Hunter. People gave up on that one way too early and easily, and so have missed a lot of quality storytelling.

Normally I watch more stuff but I was turned off by Lazarus and Go Go Loser Ranger. The only animes I watched are Apocalypse Hotel, Gundam and Apothecary Diaries.

Huge mistake not listing Shoshimin. The direction and cinematography are as stellar and usual and the second season built on the first with fantastic character work and development.

Good list, Gundam was sadly not for me and I had to drop Anne Shirley because of losing interest at some point. Apocalypse Hotel is my number one because of how unique and interesting each and every episode has been (episode 11 floored me). Very unpredictable too (hopefully today's ending will not be too tragic).

My number two is Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray and anyone even remotely invested in the series should give it a watch. The races are very exciting, the characters are fun and the whole thing is charming as heck.

Shoushimin Series 2nd Season is likely also in my top 5 though I am not certain about its position yet. The first season was solid but the second season really upped the stakes with two thrilling cases with a fair amount of twists and turns, the strong presentation helps too.

Edit: I should also give props to Vigilante: Boku no Hero Academia Illegals. Not every episode was a hit but I really like the more slice of life/local approach of the show. The action can get real intense with the latest episode being quite exhilarating. I also appreciate the show for giving a lot more information about how quirk society functions (and does not function).

Putting Gundam up so high is...certainly a take!

I'd say that the only addition I'd make to the list would also be Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray, a return to form after the so-so movie.
Funny that none of the many "Witch" anime this season got mentioned, not that they should have been.

Witch Watch was a very funny comedy, so much so that I might have included it in my top 5 for the season had it not veered too much into serious territory in its last couple of episodes. Still a worthy view even if it doesn't place among the season's best.

Gotta back up Key with respect to Sword of the Demon Hunter, some really interesting storytelling going on there. I also happen to be a fan of Demon Slayer, but I know some people aren't, and for those that worry Sword might be like Demon Slayer... it's not. Beyond demons getting slayed, of course.

The highlights of this season were definitely Apocalypse Hotel, Maebashi Witches, and the second season of Shoshimin. Witches in particular was criminally underwatched, and its well-realized ensemble of female characters a breath of fresh air compared to a certain show with mechs in it

I was also pleasantly surprised by Maebashi Witches!!! Definitely a highlight for me this season, and I'm hoping Rebecca may give the full series a review later. Mr. Green

I've been thoroughly enjoying Kowloon, and Apocalypse Hotel is on my radar, if not bumped up on watching priority given James' opinion.
