I've seen what happens when you release games annually, it does not go over very well (ie: Need for Speed, Madden, Formula 1, Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Call of Duty). Let the development teams for the games cook in peace, you get a better product as a result. Still, it's Konami and they're among worst publishers over a decade later.

I'm a little baffled at the responses to this being "they're so greedy!!" I mean, they're a corporation in a capitalist system, of course they're greedy. They're not making games out of the goodness of their hearts. They just had two Silent Hill games within a short duration that both sold and reviewed very well; why would they slow down at this point?
Having one release per year in a major franchise by a AAA publisher is definitely doable if you have multiple development teams working in parallel, which Konami definitely does; 2R and f were made by Bloober and NeoBards, respectively.

I don’t think this is a bad thing as long as they allow the developers breathing room and alternate dev teams for each release. Allow each game time to cook even if that means small or experimental Silent Hill games between big releases.

They'll hit a saturation point and move onto something else, due to it not performing as well as they expected from pumping out the same game every year. Recent problems at Ubisoft & Acivision are a prime example of this.

Konami breaks back into the console market with a couple of successful titles and suddenly they forget how to act lmao. Let's see how long this lasts before they hard pivot back to mobile games and pachislot.

There are people bring genocided by their government right now who feel less victimised than these people learning that the videogame they liked is getting a sequel.

And they'll return to this franchise after a period of absence and people are again hungry for it. A tried-and-true strategy. Case in point: Silent Hill.

I hope they're not remakes and they don't play like Silent Hill f.
A new Silent Hill that plays like the original titles would be nice but I'm not sure such a thing is going to be made.
