Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought they would keep the modern elements of the story hidden. For quite a while, you may think the story is set in a fantasy or ancient world. Then of course the Helicopters and soldiers arrive.

Wow this looks absolutely fantastic. The animation is excellent, it looks even better than I thought it would. The trailer is mostly scenes from the first chapter, with a few other scenes from the first few chapters, but if they keep up the animation quality for the entire series this'll be very special. The opening and ending are also amazing as well, they've never missed with the openings or endings for adaptations of her works.
