I saw the film yesterday and I also overall had a good time with it. I definitely felt a bit disorientated towards the middle of the film with the constant switching back and forth between the different storylines, but by the end it managed to pull me emotionally in. I particularly enjoyed the story with Saji Yuumi and her father plus her relationship with Reito (which I personally would have liked to see a whole lot more of), but in the end I was surprised by how much Reito and Chifune's conclusion hit me. The scene where he entered the tree prayer and witnessed his mother and Chifune was an especially breathtaking moment. I did find it somewhat amusing how many 3D tracking shots they used throughout the film; it felt like the one trick they had up their sleeve that they kept repeating to show off their animation ability.
