So it turns out these two are being dubbed by a reputable studio, Bang Zoom, and not some half ass studio. That makes Squid Girl a better look in my eyes, as long as BZ doesn't go all, well, BZ on that dub. So as long as they actually attempt to translate the squidisms the main character apparently uses instead of going for dull, direct translations, I'll be interested. BZ's biggest weakness, in my opinion, is what consider their biggest strength, in that they're too literal and are too quick to give up English fluidity and English equivilents for tightness to the original script. So as long as there's effort to translate instead transliterate, it'll be added to my spreadsheet when a future complete collection is solicited.

The placeholder date is actually 3/31. Thought it probably won't make a difference anyways since it's a non-Tuesday. It could be released toward end of that quarter. |
