Noir manga

How come there was never a Noir manga?
Noir is one of my favorite anime series of all time, and I was suprised that they never made a manga for it. I know if someone did make a Noir manga, I know what I would be reading.

Noir is one of the most "cinematic" anime out there; that is, not merely the story, but how it is presented, accounts for much of its memorability. Honestly don't think a manga version would to it justice, or have quite the same emotional and visual impact.
