I have a most likely stupid question that may be obvious but i'm just wondering (based toward YYH movie) can an Anime title be dubbed twice by two different companies?

If one company had the rights to the show and dubbed it, then lost the rights and another company acquired & dubbed it.
Example: AKIRA. Streamline had it a ways back and dubbed it. But they went belly-up and Pioneer acquired it, redubbed it, and made that bigass special edition release a couple years back.

Well, compared to Akira and Nausicaa, the YYH dub is kinda new. I wouldn't count on one showing up anytime soon.

I think he's referring to the movie dub, which does have a good few years on it.

The rights for it are still good if they were able to put it on dvd, where as the Akira and Nausicaa ones were from the 80s.

Nadia, again by Streamline and ADV.
Battle of the Planets received two dubs, as well as two different editing jobs.
Nausicaa was dubbed as Warriors of the Wind, and will be getting a new dub for the upcoming Disney release..

The Akira dub was done by Kodancha and given to Streamline. Can't blame Carl for that one.
Kiki, Porco Rosso have alternate dubs, and Totoro will too

A more recent example would be the Saint Seiya and Knights of the Zodiac dubs.

Sometimes different parts are picked up by different companies and as such, the companies use different voice actors. Such as Rurouni Kenshin the TV series (Media Blasters) and "Samurai X" the OVAs (ADV Films). Yu Yu Hakusho has fallen to this as well. The TV series is licensed by Funimation, but the movie had been claimed by Central Park Media.

Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro and Lupin III: The Mystery of Mamo were both originally dubbed by Streamline Pictures in the early 1990s. During that time, Lupin had to be renamed "Wolf" due to licensing issues with Monkey Punch/TMS and the original French creator of Lupin. At the same time, AnimEigo released the movies The Fuuma Conspiracy and The Legend of the Gold of Babylon, but used the name "Rupan III."
After Streamline lost the rights to the Lupin films, Manga Entertainment picked up The Castle of Cagliostro and redubbed it. Pioneer/Geneon got The Secret of Mamo and redubbed it as well, now with our beloved thief named "Lupin" instead of "Wolf."
AnimEigo, on the other hand, still has their movies titled Rupan III, due to their old licensing contract.
