Has anyone seen today's Foxtrot, with Disney done anime-style?

I tried to explain what I think Bill Amend's punchline is in my blog.

Quote:
I think the punchline is that the anime-Mickey Mouse and anime-Minnie Mouse are standing around explaining the obvious because Amend is making a joke about the dialogue in anime dubs, of the sort you see on kiddy TV, being extremely long-winded, and they have to match the "lip flap" by filling it with inanities. Often yes, but sometimes we... erm, I mean "kiddy TV syndicators whom aren't run by me, Al Kahn*... erm, I mean, Steve Brandon" have to add dialogue where there wasn't any in the Japanese version because sometimes the "lip flap" is insufficient to explain everything. Honestly, it works both ways.

EDIT: Ignore the stuff about me being Al Kahn... it's just a running gag I put in for certain people whom monitor my blog.

The strip seems more like the old school Disney Cartoons crossed with the bad anime dialogue then straight up anime spoofing.

You mean Mini in a school girl uniform giving a little fan service and the comment on Japanese animation isn't enough to convince you? If anything the diologe and senario are the only things that seem original to Disney.

That was a good one, kind of reminds me of the one where they had "L33t Speak". Wish I can remember the date though.... Confused

I expected something like this sooner or later. Foxtrot loves to spoof comic movies and some popular ones like Lord of the Rings.

I have a theory on this ... its my theory though so take it as you will.

My theory is this. The creator for foxtrot is a geek. if you notice about 75% - 80% of his srips deal with geeks and makes fun of geeks more oftne then not.

From computers, strange pets, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and just about anything else thats really geeky he has always made fun of. So i have this strong suspicion he may be a geek himself.

He has to be. A lot of his strips contain the kind of references that someone making fun of geek culture without themselves being "in the know" would never think of. L337 speak, TechTV references, Lord of the Rings quotes, Mac jokes, "All your base," and now anime satire...these things tend to go over most "normal" people's heads, after all.

Not to mention all the times they've played Dungeons and Dragons.
