But no, seriously, Google+ must be doing rather good over there.
Dunno how well, or how well it is here, 'cause all i've ever heard is the negatives of it....

Actually no, it has low usage in Japan and numbers are declining according to this recent poll.

For comparison:

"Twitter, mixi join forces to counter Facebook in Japan"

Data released this week from Nielsen NetRatings Japan showed that mixi stood in third place behind Twitter and Facebook in terms of unique visitors in October.

More than 14.5 million users visited Twitter, and 11.3 million went to Facebook, according to the Nielsen report. In contrast, about 8.4 million visited mixi. Google’s social networking service was a very distant fourth.

Facebook has surged over the last year in Japan, in part due to the popularity of the hit movie “The Social Network.” The Nielsen data indicates that it surpassed mixi midway through the year.

And goodness sake. I knew there were over 48 members (silly me ever thinking the 48 was literally the number of members), but 260 total between all the units and such? Really? That's just a new kind of ridiculous. Please tell me the number is wrong...
