anime is a weird topic when it comes to CN. I remember the early accounts of anime being seen on toonami(around 4-7 pm) with shows like dbz, tenchi muyo, outlaw star etc... but now it seems like the anime schedule has been pulled back into the wee hours of the day usually between 1-3 am. Now normally you would think this is because of the bad ratings, however CN seems to be capatilizing on the "anime look" with shows like megas xlr and totally spies. So i'm not sure of how anime is doing over there. Then recently shows like big O, cowboy bebop, trigun etc... have been removed from regular sindication on the adult swim lineup, meaning now it only shows on sunday mornings. Then new shows such as sealab, aqua teen anger etc...(crap shows in my opinion) start taking over the adult swim lineup.

However while this bad news does look bleek, it seems as if CN has currently licensed some other new animes, fma for example.

So can anyone inform me on just how well the anime situtation is at CN? cause i'm confused as hell.

It ain't going anywhere anytime soon. Even though the ratings seem to be this -

Toonami - Not Good
Adult Swim anime portion - Not Good
Pokemon/YGO hour - Great

Well, then, it's obvious.

They should redub Pokemon with lot's a vulgarities and have Pikachu say nothing but 'penis' and throw that on Adult Swim!

Well, it seems what most of their comedy shows have been doing lately.

Yes, because they so desparately want to rip off the Osbournes.

I think they should just scrap everything from the Adult Swim lineup except for Family Guy, Futurama, and Inuyasha. They could do without the rest and they could air some good anime series in place of the crappy Adult Swim shows like Sealab and all of that. They could put in some great shows like...hmm...Love Hina? Haha. Anime smallmouth

Well I'm pretty sure the ratings will make a big jump when they start airing GITS: SAC and FMA

Yea, I'm banking on it. But it still wouldn't hurt to take out the shows I've mentioned and replace them with more anime. Then again, I'm being extremely biased. Anime smile

Indeed. Especially since shows like Birdman and Aqua Teen and Sealab are getting ratings in the 400-500,000s while anime is struggling to get above 350,000.

As for how good FMA and GitS will do? Never know. Are either of them fast paced, interesting, and not boring?

I haven't seen FMA, but Gits is IMO very good, it has lots of action, most of the episodes tie into the main plot, which is a big case that they are trying to get solved, every few episodes is standalone. It's definately not boring.

As for the anime ratings being so low, if they finally take shows like Bebop and Trigun off (good shows, but have seen enough play on AS) and add in FMA and Gits, I bet it goes much higher.

The only shows I watch on CN are adult swim (anime only), a little bit of toonami (every other week), and .hack//Legend of the Twilight (Yeah!!! Go .hack), and Cyborg 009. And I agree that they should take off their crap shows like sealab (huge piece of crap), and aqua teen (more crap) to replace them with anime. But, of course, they will not. Those kind of shows are taking over the adult swim block.

And I hate how the lady that talks all of a sudden when .hack is over and says something like "The powepuff girls are having a party" or something lame like that. She ruins the ending!!! Damn CN!

So here's the thing with adult swim, they like to have a action block on saturday and a comedy block on sunday. And on weekdays comedy is for 11 to 12:30. Now since they seem to be confused on when to play some anime action or some Sealab, Birdman etc. comedy what they should do is drop the Sealab, Birdman etc. comedy and option some anime comedy shows like Happy Lesson, Comic Party, and stuff like that. I think comedy anime could make a huge impact on adult swim. Only thing is that they would have to take off the 14 and over ratings and reinstate there 18 and over rule.

And also they should be showing S.CRY.ED on regular adult swim instead of on adult swim video on demand (VOD)
And of course we all know they made a mistake by giving away Yu Yu Hakusho to Toonami.
