I was hoping to add the manga Shiki to the Encyclopedia. I discovered this series directly through reading it, and would like to clarify something before I submit the request. It says to verify if you discovered it through this method. Should I put the URL of the site I read it at, as well as how I found it?

URL's are the preferred sources, because editors and other readers can easily follow the link.
The more authoritative the source URL, the better. Company websites are the best sources, scanlations / fansubs are perfectly fine, news articles on ANN and other reputable websites are good. Other peer contributed or unknown databases are a bit less good, but still acceptable. If you don't have a great source, you can always post several sources. In the past I've even posted google search links that show a wealth of sources when I couldn't find one good source. Next up, is written material. Similar to any bibliography, please cite the name of the publication, the author, the issue date for any sort of periodical, and the page number. Finally, first hand experience is the weakest source, (Wikipedia calls this "personal research") but it is acceptable (Wikipedia does not allow it). It's best to go into detail, however in the case of a title submission "I read it" is plenty. Adding an ISBN number is cream, because it then allows anyone to search for the ISBN, which will almost always provide results. -t |

Thank you! I didn't know about the ISBN number as a possibility before. Ah, and then I tried to do it and gives me a link to the entry that's already there. ^^;
I'm sorry. It wasn't showing up on the search, for some reason. |
