Can anyone recommand me some good militaristic anime. With or without mechas. I don't care if it's Sci-Fi or not but the whole thing should make sense.

Hum...I'm not an expert in militaristic anime, but I shall recommend Saikano. I'll explain a bit.
It's not a mecha, it's a seinen, and it appear some *delicated* scenes. I shouldn't be recommending it if you're under 18, but you'll decide. It's nothing really big. The story has some militaristic things on it. In fact, it's not about war and that, but you'll find a lot of "army" scenes. The story itself mixes "civil world" with "military world". It's something Sci-Fi, some elements aren't truthly at all. Has some science on it, but makes sense all time, and it's not something you got tired because a god manages to destroy the world, xD. Probably this is not enough, but there's people here who can explain it better than I did. For more information, check out at the Encyclopedia. |

If you are looking for conflict type stuff, then Saikano won't fit the bill. It is a fantastic, gut-wrenching series that I absolutely love, but it isn't very militiristic.
My best suggestion would be the great old "Vision of Escaflowne". It is mecha mixed with 'traditional' (i.e. swords, samurai style) elements. Gundam is another possibility, but I'm not too familiar with the plethora of Gundam series and which might be the most militiristic. "Now and Then, Here and There" perhaps? Like saikano, this one has some rather disturbing instances as well. Really not much military confilict either, only instances. |

Patlabor might fit the bill. It's a Police Anime with Hulking Mechas called "Labors." Patlabor 2 lightly touches on Military Labors, while one of the series (TV or OVA) has a few Military Labors go beserk.
You could try the original Bubblegum Crisis series. K-Suits, BOOMERS, and the 4 ladies in nearly skin tight hardsuits. |

I've seen Saikano. It's not really militaristic if you ask me. Much more romantic than militaristic. Seen the first 5 episodes of Now and Then, Here and There, more militaristic than Saikano, but still not what I'm looking for...
In fact , I was thing some like Full Metal Panic! without the comedy part, is there anything like that? |

Let's see, Brain Powered? Not sure if it fits your bill but I think it's pretty close. Regarding Patlabor, the 2nd movie is probably the most militaristic. About a coup attempt I remember. |

Hellsing, its about the hellsing organization fighting vampires. its a really goo series, i guss you could call it militiristic.

The first season of Full Metal Panic is highly militaristic and has mechas too. You might want to check out Martian Successor Nadesico as well.

I recommend everything from the Ghost In The Shell Franchise (altough I haven't seen the 2nd Movie yet). But its kinda more of a Police / Sci - Fi Series with an occasional Actionscene thrown in. Nevertheless I think it will suit your tastes.
RahXephon is a good and serious Mechaseries you might wanna check out too. |

A lot of the titles being recommended here are, at best, a stretch to be called truly "militaristic."
My suggestions: Gasaraki: A hard-core mecha series with a bit of a supernatural twist, much of its story and most of its action is focused on military units. It uses some of the most realistic military tactics you'll see in any anime and is probably the most detailed series ever made when it comes to the mechanical aspects of how mecha work. It's also dreadfully serious. Blue Gender: Bug-hunting-type mecha series heavily ground in battle scenes and military maneuvers (and most characters are part of a military force), although it also has an excellent, slow-developing love story. Blue Submarine No. 6: Four-episode OVA series about a futuristic sub's efforts to prevent a madman from destroying the world with genetically-altered mutants and alterations to the Earth's magnetic field. Lots of great sub battle scenes, and most of the characters are part of one of two opposing military forces. (This was also the series that put now-prominent GONZO Studios on the map; it was one of the first series to fully exploit CGI effects.) Gunparade March: Set in a parallel world where alien invaders arrived on Earth in the 1940s and mecha exist by the turn of the 21st century, the series is all about a high school class that doubles as a mecha-centered military unit. (They even live in military barracks.) Crest/Banner of the Stars: Crest is the original, Banner the first sequel series, and there is also a Banner II. They form an epic sci-fi series about two characters in a space-based military who learn to trust and depend each other while a war starts/rages around them. Several space battles ground in military tactics and lots of strategic planning amongst interpersonal scenes. Zaion: Short, weird OVA series about a military unit fighting off a bizarre alien threat and the girl who is their secret weapon. And I agree that most Gundam series (especially 08th MS Team) would probably qualify as militaristic. |

Mobile Suit Gundam. Has military, Has mecha. Made the Mecha genre what it is today. Highly reccomended. Robotech/Macross. Mecha, Military, Sci-fi rompfest. Could laughingly be referred to as "America's Gundam" Evangelion. Has some decent Military ties, Great Mecha, Sci-Fi and a thought provoker. Zone of the Enders. It's crap, but it fits the catagory you put. Still, I'd avoid it. |

Nadesico is way too comedic though. They parody too many things for me to really think of it as militaristic. But if you're looking for military comedy, this is a very good choice. Any Gundam series would also be good, except for maybe G Gundam. It has a little bit of that military feel, but not much. It acts more like Dragon Ball Z with all of it's martial arts and tournament-like atmosphere, though I still like it because it's different than all of the other Gundam shows. If you were to ask which Gundam was "the most militaristic," I'd probably say 08th MS Team. They do a lot of guerilla warfare in jungle/forest settings on earth rather than doing all or most of the fighting in outer space. Gundam Wing is good too. I personally enjoyed the underlying political and philosophical themes, but they tend to draw themselves out around the middle of the series, so be wary of that if you don't like a lot of talk. I also highly recommend Vision of Escaflowne. It has more of a feudal European setting, but the mechs they have add a very modern feel to the series. It's more of an action/adventure/romance anime, but I thought it had an intersting storyline (like the whole "what is fate and can it be controlled?" kind of theme). Surely, you've heard of Neon Genesis Evangelion. If you like science fiction or apocalyptic brain teasers with underlying biblical references, this is the show for you. I've only seen it twice and haven't been able to call it a Masterpiece like a lot of other people yet, but it's enjoyable, nonetheless. RahXephon is much of the same, though it follows a much more sane formula (I think). I found this series easier to watch than Eva, but at the same time, I wasn't looking to disect the it like everyone does with Eva. And finally, I would also like to suggest Tekkaman Blade. I feel it's very underrated because not a lot of people have seen it. It's a classic story, but it's very well written within a span of 49 episodes. |

For space-based military, you might want to try Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
Macross, which a few people have mentioned, is a fantastic show, but it's really not a military show so much as it's a show that just happens to include the military in it. It's not the best thing to look for if you want a military anime (although I would certainly recommend that you watch it anyway). As far as Gundam goes, I'll back Tony in recommending the 08th MS Team. Personally I don't like it very much, but it's the grittiest Gundam series and deals more with the grunt soldiers while trying (somewhat unsuccessfully, unfortunately) to ignore the epic "big picture" that the rest of the Gundam shows try to capture. I think that if you can say most Gundam shows are about war, 08MST is about the military that's fighting the war. Of course, owing back to its nature as a Gundam series, it just can't help but give some greater importance to the story you're seeing, so instead of just being about some regular soldiers fighting the war, it's about some regular soldiers who happen to be assigned spare Gundams and then spoiler[stumble across a secret Zeon weapon that, if employed as hoped, would singlehandedly defeat the Federation.] So, there goes that potentially good idea. |
