My most anticipated game of the year. Day one physical on Switch for me!

The gameplay didn't seem intriguing to me when the first previews came out (and judging from the review it's actively a slog) but I do like DR so I'll definitely be getting this for the story if it ever goes on sale or I can find a decently priced used copy.

Kind of a bummer they didn't go all out for the English dub.

The comparison to 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim definitely has me intrigued - that game was a wild time, and a very solid one. Shame to hear the actual gameplay's pretty rough, but I might well check this one out.

This pretty much confirms my concern with the English dub. They recorded in the UK. Most of them are Americans living in the UK, apparently, but what I've heard still sounds weaker than the average JRPG dub in America. When you consider how fantastic the dubs for Somnium Files and Raincode are, it's a shame they didn't go with an LA cast, which pretty much guarantees a high baseline of quality. I wonder if the budget had something to do with it, considering they put the studio in debt to make the game. Maybe recording in the UK would be cheaper.

Great to see it turned out well over all. I'd have picked it up for the switch already based on the pedigree alone, but after Rain Code got a better PS5 release a year after the Switch version came out, I'm taking a wait and see with this one.
While they've so far said there are no plans, I'm sure if sales are good enough we'll see that version soon enough.
And if it doesn't, I'll just get it on sale in 2 years Laughing

I mainly thought it had something to do with the SAG-AFTRA strikes going on. I could be wrong.

It can be both, recording in the UK is both cheaper and has less union protections than an LA dub. Shame that they limited it to Americans or American accents, doing a Xenoblade with this would've been funny

Having heard most characters so far, most of the performances range from fine to genuinely quite good. It's just a couple I'm not really feeling but that can change once they actually get to do things
