Konami Teases Revival of Busou Shinki Franchise

posted on by Karen Ressler

Konami began streaming a video on Friday for its Busou Shinki franchise. The video features the words "Re Arm, Re Boot, Re Construct!!!" and shows various characters by different artists. However, it does not announce a specific new project.

The franchise's website credits Hiroyuki Owaku as chief producer, Toriwo Toriyama as character supervisor, and Maki Asai as the model designer. The illustrations, from left to right in the image above, are by Ark Performance, Eeji Komatsu, Yoshinori Shizuma, Humikane Shimada, BLADE, Naohiro Washio, and Kurogin. Other creators listed as participating include neco, redjuice, Arco Wada, and Z Ton.

The Twitter account for the franchise also posted new posts on Friday for the first time since December 2011. The official Twitter account for the Newtype magazine also posted a picture from Kadokawa's booth at Comiket on Friday, and stated that the Busou Shinki display at the booth was for a "new development."

Konami's line of armed female action figures inspired the net anime Busou Shinki: Moon Angel in 2011 and the Busou Shinki television anime in 2012. Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video.
