Entertainment news website Deadline reported on Wednesday that Amazon Prime Video in India is integrating its MX Player service into the larger service to form a combined library of content. MX Player is currently available as an individual application and also as an add-on subscription within Prime Video.

MX Player is an ad-supported streaming service that originally launched as a video player application in 2011. It launched as a streaming platform that specializes in short form content in February 2019. Amazon acquired it in June 2024. MX Player streams several major anime titles with Hindi dubs and also with Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada dubs.

Crunchyroll launched as an Amazon Prime Video add-on channel in India and several Southeast Asian countries in 2024.

Anime Times, Amazon Prime Video's dedicated anime channel, launched in India in December 2023. The channel is available as an add-on subscription with Prime Video for ₹899 per year.

The "Animax + GEM" Japanese entertainment pack launched on Prime Video in India in June 2023. The add-on package is available to Prime subscribers for an additional ₹299 a year.
