Trivia:

The Kid's gravestone identifies him as Michael Karl Popper. Karl Popper (1902-1994) was one of the most important philosophers of the twentieth century. He argued that theories could not ever be proven true, only falsified. No matter how much evidence we gathered in support of a theory, there could remain as yet undiscovered contrary evidence. He also argued strongly in support of liberal democracy over other forms of government. Both issues are central to "The Matrix".
