Trivia:

Before this series got greenlit, an older attempt in making a brand new Shaman King TV anime occurred a few years earlier. However Hiroyuki Takei turn it down when the original voice actors and music couldn't be reused for the remake.

While a majority of the main cast from the first anime returned for the new series, a few characters were recast. These included Yuuko Satou as Yoh Asakura, Shinpachi Tsuji as Bason, Nana Mizuki as Kororo, and Nobutoshi Canna as Pai-long.
