Trivia:

Getta is the Japanese word for wooden sandals, which Professor Saotome wears; which is why Ryoma is confused at first when Saotome first tells him about Getter Robo.

Much like the OAV series, this TV series is titled Shin Getter Robo. However, both titles use different kanji characters for the word "Shin." The OAV's Shin (真) means "true," while the TV series' Shin (新) means "new."

Getter Robo was first known as "Venger Robo", a manga by Go Nagai. Later Turned into an anime called "Getter Robo", but never released into the US. It wasn't until "Getter Robo G" that it was released into the US Syndication as "Force Five: Starvengers". There were other titles.
