Dragon Quest Treasure Chest Offered for 365,400 Yen

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of its Dragon Quest role-playing game franchise, Square Enix is offerring a life-size Dragon Quest Treasure Chest — for 348,000 yen (about US$4,250) or 365,400 yen (US$4,465) with tax included.
The upcoming chest is actually a replica of a legendary "Dragon Quest Pirate's Treasure Chest" that was released in very limited numbers in 1988. Like the original, the new 1/1-scale chest will be 90 centimeters (35 inches) wide and filled with plush toys of Dragon Quest's Slime mascot creatures. (The image to the right is of the original 1988 chest; Square Enix cautions that the new version may have differences.)
Square Enix is limiting the number of new chests made to the number of pre-orders it receives. It is also enticing would-be buyers by noting the envious stares they will get from friends.
