Idol group's Saitama concert DVD offered in 5 versions with random bonus pics

DVDs of pop idol group AKB48's AKB48 Yossha~Ikuzo~! in Seibu Dome concert will ship in Japan on December 28 with one of 116 random AKB48 photographs. The three-day event began on July 22 and took place in Saitama Prefecture's Tokorozawa City. About 90,000 people attended the performances.

Five versions of the concert DVD will be released with retail prices of 2,980 yen (about US$38), 5,980 yen (about US$77), and 18,900 yen (about US$240). The lower-priced editions will each include one of the 116 different concert pictures, while the special box set will bundle five random photographs and a separate 132-page photo book. Because the bonus photographs will not be sold separately, fans who want to collect all 116 will have to buy many copies of the DVDs.

As one of the most popular musical groups in Japan today, AKB48's releases often become top-selling titles. AKB48's newest single, titled "Kaze wa Fuiteiru," sold more than 1,046,000 copies on October 26, its first day of release. The idol group's "Beginner" and "Heavy Rotation" single CDs were the top-selling singles last year.
