Aya Hirano Briefly Returns to Twitter
posted on by Eric Stimson
The popular voice actress Aya Hirano (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Fairy Tail, Gatchaman Crowds) is making a brief return to Twitter this weekend to host a real-time discussion with her fans about her latest work. Her new album, vivid (released on February 19), will be discussed at 11 PM on Saturday, while its DVD accompaniment will be featured the next day at a time still to be determined. The discussions will take the form of mutual listening and viewing, with Hirano offering commentary on her thoughts and feelings behind the album and answering fans' questions.
Hirano has had a turbulent relationship with her fanbase as a result of discontent with her relationships with male members of her band and openly stating her preferences in men on Japanese TV. After withholding much personal information in her tweets for about half a year, she formally quit Twitter on May 22 of last year. Her account, @Hysteric_Barbie, became an "official information" feed. She boasted 380,000 followers upon her leave and the official information feed still has 360,000 followers.
