Gundam Creator Yoshiyuki Tomino to Speak at Space Business Conference

Mobile Suit Gundam creator and director Yoshiyuki Tomino will speak at the Spacetide Foundation's Space Business Conference Spacetide 2025 on July 8. The “Questioning the possibility of realizing the 'Universal Century (U.C.)' and the value of space business” seminar will examine how close we are to the future depicted in Mobile Suit Gundam, discuss how humanity can advance into space without destroying Earth, and ask Tomino on his thoughts on the rapid development of the commercialization of space.

The Spacetide website notes Vtuber Usui Clear will also appear at the conference.
Tomino's seminar will take place at the Vision Center Tokyo Toranomon on July 8 from 3:40 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. Early bird tickets are on sale until May 31. Regular tickets will be available from June 1 to June 30 and last-minute tickets from July 1 to July 10. Early bird ticket prices range from 10,000 to 75,000 yen (about US$70 to US$520). Regular tickets will cost 10,000 to 98,000 yen (about US$70 to US$680). Last-minute tickets are 10,000 to 138,000 yen (about US$70 to 960).
Established in August 2016, the Spacetide Foundation aims to “drive the future of human society through the space industry,” “create new waves of the space industry,” and “design a sustainable ecosystem through connecting industries/communities/individuals and materializing the potential of the space industry.” The Foundation has held the International Space Business Conference since 2015.
