Pioneer distribution woes

Various Usenet posters have reported major difficulties ordering Pioneer and Bandai products online (Pioneer distributes Bandai in North America).

Online retailers such as Express.com have not received expected shipments of Pioneer Products and rumours point to manufacturing problems.

Brick and mortar retailers have also reported some delays with Pioneer products but do not seem to be experiencing nearly as many difficulties as online retailers.

Another rumour states that Suncoast.com, which seems to be having no problems with Pioneer or Bandai titles, has an exclusive deal with Pioneer to receive all Pioneer and Bandai titles first and that Suncoast is accounting for all the available DVDs, causing a shortage for other e-tailers.

Pioneer denies this, according to a Pioneer representative, "The "Suncoast Deal" does not exhist".

As part of the Musicland Group, it is possible that Suncoast is receiving it's shipments anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks earlier than smaller retailers, but this would not account for any shortage on or after the expected release dates.
